Te Ara Tawhaiti o Tawhaki
An ocean voyage is never straight. What is
most important is that at any point along
the way we must know where we are at in
relation to where we are going and what we
are trying to achieve. Strategically planning
for measurable impact is a strong intention
of Te Toi Ahorangi. While we will continue to
monitor national health targets that align
with crown aspirations, we will begin to
formulate new measures and accountability
systems that will enable us to measure our
impact on what matters most from a
tangata whenua perspective.
WHĀNAU
We aim to demonstrate our impact in
alignment with our Pou Ora, our change
principles, strategic currents and the four
elements of Toi Ora. The very nature of
upholding our word, our power and our
vision will strengthen us as voyagers, and it
will shape both the journey
and the
destination itself.
FLOURISHING
As voyagers, we are inspired by the
Poutama, an ascending pattern that
signifies the steps that Tāwhaki took as he
climbed to Te Toi o ngā Rangi, the
uppermost heaven in pursuit of the three
baskets of knowledge. His passion for
journeying is mirrored in our great ancestor
Toi and his many descendants.
The future is not some place we are going
to, but one that we are creating right now.
As tangata whenua we can define,
determine and decide our future direction,
for in the now is all time.
