Selvans-Lupercalia

★★★★★

"N.A.F.H." is the final song on the CD and it begins as a funeral procession around the mountain villages just as they were done back in the high mountain villages in southern Italy and Greece. The song is melodic and melancholic yet, tranquil. If you have ever heard of Enslavement of Beauty, then SELVANS is the next band for your ears. Majestic passages with a trace of perfection in their composition structure that keeps you listening through every corner of sound. The final clean vocals are refreshing to hear in all of the contrasts of soundscapes. The song brings you up to the climax of this CD and then leaves you wanting more of this band. If I could give them more than the 5 out of 5 I would. As it stands I have to totally recommend this band SELVANS and their CD "Lupercalia". In the end you will not be disappointed. By Aeonis

Earthside -A Dream in Static

★★★★★★★★

Be prepared: These 8 tracks are not merely songs; a more apropos descriptor would be “sonic landscapes”— each sharing common traits within the overall musical tapestry, but also having their own, very individual personality: From sweeping vocals- which dart about the scale and sometimes jump an entire octave- to punchy djenty goodness, to eerie dissonant, delay-drenched atmospherics, to cinematic end-credit worthy orchestral interludes (employing the talents of the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra), the whole of the compositions are delectably varied and showcase some true skill and ingenuity.

Do your eardrums and soul a favor and get your hands on this.
