New Year’s resolutions “Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Many people do different kinds of resolution for their New Year. However, we as Christians should have a superior one. We need to start doing self-evaluation and to do it on an ongoing basis to bring our lives back to God who allowed us to start anew. As Christians, we need to get connected daily with the source of life; not only at the beginning and at the end of the day but also throughout the day. We should take time every day to pray and read the Holy Scripture, and other spiritual writings. It is important, by God’s power, to apply what we read into our life. We have to practice forgiveness daily and ask God’s forgiveness. Life in Christ has its own flavor to whoever tastes it. Everyday, we should do some acts of kindness. As children of God, we should do something special for the people who cross our paths. When we remember our ultimate home is in heaven can help us live life better. We will become instruments in God’s hands, shining forth His light of love to the world around us. God’s saints were faithful to God’s commandments. They loved God and His creation. Spiritual progress depends on how we show our love for God by showing love to others, especially to the less fortunate. If we make this our central New Year’s resolutions, then we will journey on an exciting path of change to reach 40 spiritual goal. If we truly want to better our lives, then we have to first discover what is the main purpose in our lives. If we have sincerely experienced Christ’s importance in our lives, we should not just return to our normal routine of life and our typical schedule. We need to invite Him to be born anew in our hearts and lives, no one can enter the new year the same! The purpose of resolutions basically is to improve one’s life. May the New Year bring happiness and success.
