The King of Glory
“Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who according
to His abundant mercy
has begotten us again
to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead.” (1
Peter 1:3)
The feast of the
Resurrection of our
Lord God and Savior
Jesus Christ comes
after the period of 55
days of Great Lent
and lasts fifty days
until the Pentecost.
The resurrection of
the King of Glory was
distinguished
with
an amazing power.
However, when we
participate
every
Sunday in communion,
we
commemorate
the Resurrection of
the Lord Jesus. The
Lord's
resurrection
from the dead was and is
the greatest event which is
the foundation of our faith,
without it we would still
be under the law of sin.
However at the time of the
Lord Christ’s burial, the
Jews made great attempts
to resist and distort
the good news of the
Resurrection. They spread
rumors and lies saying that
the disciples overcame the
soldiers and took the body
of the Lord Christ. To cover
their lie, The Jews paid
off the guards at tomb to
agree with their lie. We,
as Christian believers,
know the truth and hold
44
steadfast in our faith that
we have salvation through
the resurrection of the king
of glory Jesus Christ.
In many occasions, the
Lord Jesus Christ had
announced the good news
of His resurrection to His
disciples
before
His
crucifixion.
The Lord Christ
announced to His
disciples that on the
third day He would
be raised from the
dead. The disciples
remembered
His
words
afterward.
Also,
after
resurrection,
the
Lord Jesus spent
forty days with His
disciples speaking
to
them
about
matters related to
the Kingdom of
God. May the King
of Glory help all of
us to live a life that glorifies
His Holy Name which is
called upon us, so, we
may inherit the eternal life.
