Talented had the chance to catch up with the very beautiful and talented Arika Kane

Arika Kane is an up and coming artist from Connecticut with over 1 million digital

downloads and numerous theme songs on several VH1 reality and sitcom shows

such as: “What Chilli Wants”, “Basketball Wives”, “Single Ladies” and “Love & Hip

Hop”.

Arika first and foremost I love your music and thanks for doing the interview for

Talented.

Lets hop right into the interview so we can give those music fans a taste of the joy

and inspiration you give to music lovers all around the world.

You started singing around 10 years old. Being a product of parents who

loved to sing some would say you were born into it. I myself have had

numerous majors in college and life which brings me to this question. When

you were young, was becoming a music star your first choice or did you

dream to be something different? I ask because a lot of relevant artist actually

wanted to be something different than what they do now but music was the

life that those chose them.

Great question, the same applies with me. I would say that I was born into the

love & passion for music before anything else. When I was very young I first

wanted to be an Olympic Figure Skater, and then in junior high school since I

loved sports, I wanted to play basketball for the Uconn Women (they were

always very inspiring). But the LOVE for Music was always there with me. I

was 18 it was my first year in college. I was majoring in communications, &

minoring in Dance. It seemed that Dance & Music History were the only

classes I cared about.

So the day soon came & I made the decision to quit college, connect the dots

and work hard to pursue what it is that I really love which is Music.
