Megs Broken Wings Jewelry
Jewelry
When I began MBW Jewelry in 2008,
I found it to be more of a creative outlet
than a business. With a fascination with
wings and pretty things, ideas were
endless! I found making jewelry to be
therapeutic and calming, so spending
my free time creating things to wear or share
made for a pretty good day. In time I’ve really gotten a feel for the fashion
industry, and I’ve spent much effort keeping things on-trend and introducing
new and fresh ideas.
“The idea behind my work is simply, inspiration.”
What is your favorite part in the process of designing
products?
With using a wide variety of gemstones, I enjoy most
finding and pairing stones not customary to the
traditional turquoise and silver. I also enjoy developing
unique relationships with my customers as we work
together to bring their imagination to life.
What are your favorite design/product trends?
I absolutely adore all things organic and natural, so working with gemstones has been
the most fun part of my work thus far. I love green and tan palettes, with the occasional
blue to capture my love of the ocean.
What goals do you have in store for the future of your
business?
As I progress in metalsmith techniques, I plan to convert
the majority of my work to rings, pendants, bracelets and
earrings with these methods. I also plan to expand my
promotions to find interested boutiques across the
country during travels. I’m currently trademarking my
in-process logo ‘MBW’. It’s going to be a great year!
