Holly Angelucci Apothecary by HollyBeeez Candles Before my twins were born, I was a Curriculum Coordinator for a preschool in Virginia. After my twins were born, I continued to work while my teacher husband went to school at night for his Masters in Administration. After graduating, he accepted a position in Pennsylvania as a principal so we moved and I am now a stay-at-home-mom. It’s always been important to me to be a contributor and to be creative. It’s my outlet. “My business began because I always wanted to learn the art of candle making, and I wanted to be able to contribute financially to my family.” Give us a peek into your candle-making process. I generally begin each seasonal line of products three months in advance, so I began work on my Fall line in July. I went with Pumpkin Pecan Waffle this year which has proven to be my most popular Fall product. I have an art education background, so mixing dyes for wax colors is one of my favorite things to do. After wicking the containers, I am ready to measure the wax and start melting. Once the wax reaches a certain temperature, I add the color, and then the scent. Once the wax has cooled, I pour the wax into the prepared containers. The candles cure for about a week, and are then ready to ship to my customers. How do you keep up with demand? I make a few of each candle I sell. I don’t mass produce; everything is made, start to finish, by me. What’s been your most popular item or line to date? Hands down, my most popular item has been my Cinnamon Bun candle. HollyBeeez.etsy.com TAGazine | 11
