StephieMc Designs started when I was
laid off from my management position in
November of 2008. I had made jewelry
in the past and decided to make jewelry
and try to sell it to get by until I found a
new job. In March of 2009 I opened my
online shop and in May of 2009 one of my items
was featured in a group of artisan-created items on
Good Morning America.

service. We strive to be responsive to any questions or
comments they may have. We want them to know that we
care about them and their needs.”
How did you approach building your brand?
From the beginning I reached out to customers through
Facebook, Twitter and newsletters. I have also taken
opportunities to work with other companies to expand
our visibility. We love to introduce our products to new
audiences either through blogs, deal sites and speaking
to groups locally.
What is your favorite part of the design process?
Creating a piece that touches someone’s heart, or
reminds them of a special time. Being able to customize
a product allows me to put nearly anything on an item.
What’s been your most popular item or line to date?
Our most popular item has been our Bushel & Peck
Necklace. Each time someone orders it they have a
story about how their Mother or Father or Grandparents
said this to them. I love that we create something that
is so touching and brings back happy memories for our
customers.
