Uncover L.A. SOME SECRETS ARE MEANT TO BE SHARED Best Girl CREDIT: 929 S BROADWAY LOS ANGELES, CA Forget what you think you know about Los Angeles. Somehow it has been entrenched into the collective conscience (myself included) that hating on L.A. is cool. Maybe you’ve heard that it’s a web of freeways, with gridlock guaranteed to spike your blood pressure. (Because apparently nobody in New York has been late because of traffic). Or that it’s a barren wasteland. (Despite its ecological diversity and proximity to the ocean). Or 18 that its residents are only hungry for fame. (Even though some of the most talented chefs in the world call L.A. home). Or that palm trees line the streets. (Well, that one I’ll let slide). A town that was once defined by traffic and sprawl is now a close-knit community energized by boutique hotels, art galleries and hip bars intoxicated by L.A.’s quirky charm. Los Angeles is like that person you prematurely judge at a party for wearing a sequined tracksuit, only to find out a few cocktails later that you’re actually soulmates. It’s a place that slowly reveals itself. You just have to know where to look. After all, nestled in a strip mall between the laundromat and the liquor store is where you find some of the city’s hottest reservations. For those who thrive on high energy, Los Angeles is a traveller’s dream. But don’t take my word for it. The Energy Issue S y l v a n u s - Ur b a n . c o m
