While this early part of the run may only represent a smattering of what’s to come, late summer and early fall fish will be bright, aggressive, and make your reel sing. A similar opportunity exists in late April, May, or even into June as the annual run winds down. Many rivers are devoid of anglers by mid spring. And there are always a few fresh fish that are simply late to the party.

Winter in the Great Lakes stirs many emotions. The snow and bone gripping cold can create anger and frustration. But on moderate winter days one can often find peacefulness in the outdoors. Many anglers seem to hang up their rods for the winter months. With clothing and wading gear constructed with today’s technology it is easy to stay comfortable except for the most extreme of days.
