Will Petersen lives, fishes, and teaches high school English in Humboldt County, California where he practices catch and release, except for abalone. His work has also seen publication in The Fly Fish Journal.

Bill Bakke is the founder of Oregon Trout and the Native Fish Society. He is an angler and fishes for anything that will bite and enjoys having steelhead rise to his flies, most of which he has created. Conservation of native wild fish is a passion and his goal is to have government tell the truth and follow the law.

Todd Hirano was born and raised on Kauai, Hawaii. The opportunity to learn fly fishing and to also discover the magic of steelheading came through this chance opportunity to leave Hawaii and live in Oregon. Since the early 90's Todd has been a dedicated disciple of the writings of Bill McMillan in the book Dry Line Steelhead. This profound influence continues to this day. Todd has been blessed to become friends with Bill, corresponds with him regularly, and he can be seen fishing the dry line swing all winter and skating flies all summer.
