16. Prepare 2 Tippet feathers as shown in figure 16. The goal is to have the intermediate black bar on the tippet feathers line up with the black herl butt. Once they are properly sized and prepared, create a "Z" bend in the rachis.

15. The speckled Gallina feather is folded and tied in. 2 or 3 wraps toward the eye and tie off. Try to keep thread wraps to a minimum when securing this feather. Stroke all the fibers downward. This make take some time and patience. Moistened fingers will help with this task. The throat should sweep gently back toward the point of the hook as shown in figure 15.

14. Wrap the rib, 5 even wraps. Tie off at the bottom of the hook. Use your thumbnail to flatten the tinsel as much as possible at the tie-off point.
