10. #14 flat mylar tinsel is prepared. A fairly long piece, 6 or 7" is used. The end is cut at a slant, gold side is facing the tier. The first wrap will be at 90 degrees and expose the silver side. Carefully and slowly advance toward the butt of the fly, and wrap back up toward the eye (double-wrapped tinsel body). Tie this off as shown in figure 11. Remember to use minimal wraps, and reserve an appropriate amount of space for the head of the fly.

9. Figure 9 shows an adequate underbody built up for the tinsel body.

8. Prepare the ribbing material, which is medium oval silver tinsel. I remove about 3/4 of the silver, exposing the core. This is tied in at the front of the hook, and the thread is wound down and back the length of the body. The tinsel will be tied to the bottom of the hook, slightly toward the backside of the hook.
