his knowledge with the world!
Our next stop, not far from Ek’ Balam,
is the Cenote Saamal. On the historical
grounds of Spanish Missionaries, the
open-air swimming spot is cool and
clean, and well organized offering life-
jackets and lockers for clothing. A few
steps away, built from the ruins of
a catholic church, is the restaurant
of Hacienda Selva Maya. The staff is
super nice here but what is really impres-
sive is the food! Home-cooked style
food items with flavours that you
will remember for a long, long
time. Yummie!
The final destination of our Kay-
Tours trip was the archeological
site of Coba. Set within the lush
coastal jungle 44kms northwest of
Tulum, the area covers 80 square
kilometers. On arrival, one can
choose to walk, rent a bicycle or
hire the MAYAN UBER (as Claudia
likes to call the pedal carts) to make
the trek into the jungle. The sprawl-
ing historical empire will leave you
speechless…which is good because
Marten has a lot of information to
share with KayTours clients. Enjoy!
