Indus Valley Designs was founded in 2010
with a vision to create a product that
is not only beautiful, but also rich in
character and history. We are a husband
wife team and our Indian heritage and
furniture
manufacturing
background
helped us in developing and importing
stunning recycled handmade product
ranges for the Australian market. We
share a deep love for culture, fashion
and design. A large part of our product
mix uses sustainable, recycled materials
and old Indian antiques that are
refurbished or remodelled to make a
fashionable furniture item for everyday
use in modern living. At Indus Valley
we believe in maximum utilization of
resources and doing more with less.
While ISHKA's main focus is on the trade
of hand crafted products and contributing
to poverty reduction, since the very
beginning, ISHKA has always been
extremely proactive and has taken a
strong approach to environmental issues.
There are some companies out there
which have caught onto the fact that
nowadays it's trendy to appear green.
At ISHKA we don't do things to be
trendy; we take pride in leading and
taking action, not just conforming. Whilst
we realise there is no easy answer
to the broad issues surrounding the
environment, one thing's for sure: we
must all minimize our impact and foot-
print on this beautiful planet, by using
less, caring more and showing the utmost
respect for our habitat and each other.
