Surface & Panel Q4 2017 - Page 64

F R O M T H E E D I T O R Surface & Panel Reflects Energy of Industry Did you check out the pictures on pages 6, 7 and 8? They tell you something important about this industry and Surface & Panel’s symbiotic relationship to it. I took those pictures at the 2017 Material, Technology & Design Symposium @ CPA Fall Meeting, and I acknowl- edge that I’m not a professional photographer. All I had to do, however, was point the camera and click, and I was bound to capture attendees engaged in meaningful discussions, speakers offering insightful information and people in general exuding excitement and optimism about an industry on the rise. Yes, we’re technically talking about many industries, but they all come together in composite panels and deco- rative surfaces, and that shared interest brought them together in Savannah in October. That and Surface & Panel. As founder and co-sponsor of the symposium, Surface & Panel has again demonstrated its belief in the indus- try and its confidence in its future. The symposium was the place to be if you share that belief and confidence. But that’s just one of many examples of S&P delivering for the people in this business. We recently finished scheduling our 2018 issues, and among them will be the second annual version of The Master. This definitive guide to panel processing and all that goes with it offers a one-of-a-kind resource for anyone connected to the industry and those who want to learn more. Also, Bedford Falls Communications, which publishes S&P, is launching 300 Third Creative, which is a one-stop shop for photography, copy-writing and distribution to help businesses deliver high-quality and effective messages to potential customers. All the while, we’ll keep producing Surface & Panel magazine every quarter with enlightening and informative fea- tures such as those in this edition, and we’ll keep disseminating timely news through our website and e-newsletter. As the images from the 2017 symposium show, enthusiasm and momentum in this industry are tremendous. S&P reflects that energy in many different ways. Scott W.
