WHERE IN THE WORLD AM I?

ALL ABOARD THE
HELLO KITTY EXPRESS!
In “you-couldn’t-make-this-up” news,
Japan has launched a Hello Kitty bullet train.
Inside the special white and pink
shinkansen (bullet train), Hello Kitty smiles
down from the shades of every window,
and one car features a life-sized Hello Kitty
doll for fans to take selfies with.
The Hello Kitty train began operating
in July and already attracts hundreds of
tourists and Hello Kitty fanatics daily.
• I’m the site of the world’s
first recorded “selfie” in 1839,
a self-portrait shot by Robert
Cornelius, an amateur chemist and
photography enthusiast.
• I’m affectionately known as the
“City of Brotherly Love”.
• I’m the place to eat cannoli,
hoagies and my culinary signature
“cheesesteak” – a long, crusty roll
filled with thinly sliced sautéed rib-
eye beef steak and melted cheese.
• I’ve been the stomping ground
for some of history’s most
notorious bootleggers, including
Al “Scarface” Capone.
