Goal orientated behaviour however
is only effective for short periods at
a time and does not provide
the fitness individual with the
frame of mind to continuously engage in fitness
practices
as
the
‘peak’ has been
reached
or
achieved (the
goal) and thus a
plateau has been hit.
Some fitness individuals
get stuck here as they don’t
know how to improve from
here on and thus the reason for
either getting stuck on this plateau
or deteriorate in neglecting their fitness
regimes.
Fitness individuals should rather direct their
focus more in the light of habitual actions as to
prompt themselves that their fitness routines becomes a part of their daily living (such as breathing
and eating), not only for optimal functioning but to
gradually better themselves and to be able to succeed for longer periods at a time, and to endure
their wanted results for prolonged periods at a time.
I look forward to shed more light on motivation as a
strategy to stay fit in the next issue where we will
have an in depth discussion about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
I cannot, is not an option. Surely, you can!
