Style Tips on trousers A big fashion taboo is wearing your pants high on your waist. They should rest just above your hips, not too high and not too low, because both extremes make your legs look shorter than they are. Don’t stuff your pockets with anything because it again draws attention to your hips and your height. Keep your trouser length slightly longer so that the crease reaches the tops of your shoes. This makes your legs appear longer. Also avoid detail on pants like pleats. If you are finding it difficult to find pants that fit you well, it’s best to get them custom made. Acing the accessories Get your belt adjusted and more holes put in, or buy one that doesn’t have holes and is adjustable. Accessories to steer clear of are bow ties, suspenders and Windsor knots in ties. Narrow ties in solid colours or diagonal patterns work well. At the end of the day, the point of the exercise is not about appearing taller or disguising your lack of height, it is about looking your best with proper-fitting clothes in fashionable styles. After all, no one wants to be labeled sloppy, no matter how tall they are. So dress according to what suits you and you are sure to have compliments coming your way!
