Mold Remediation: Residential and Commercial
Molds are microscopic fungi that can grow on virtually any organic
substance where moisture and oxygen are present. Many allergists
and asthmatics are pathologically sensitive to the spores, the mold
reproductive bodies. Some molds produce mycotoxins, which also
make sensitive people sick, especially after long or substantial exposures.
Outdoors, molds play an essential environmental role by disintegrating dead organic matter, but indoors they become hazardous to human health if permitted to spread. Mold grows indoors when spores
land on moist surfaces. There
are many types of mold, and
none grow without moisture.
