Probably you` ve never thought that
music surrounds you on every day basis. For
example, when you do the shopping you can
hear catching muzak, when driving a car you
listen to the radio, or being in the forest, you
enjoy the sounds of nature, which are merging
into one beautiful melody. It is a very
interesting observation though sometimes it
is very difficult to understand how the variety
of the sounds can develop into your favourite
song and how a musician gathers the
stadiums with thousands of people thanks to
his art. Everyone has his own answer but they
all are united by the beginning of the artistic
life. We are not popular performers, but since
our early childhood we have been involved in
music, playing the piano, and can tell about
our just started musical way and give you
some useful advice.
Our acquaintance with music
happened, when we were 7 years old. The
parents sent us to a music school of
Blagoveshchensk, where we spent 2 years
together. We always recall this time with a
smile, after all it is full of happy and funny
memories. To tell the truth, they are few now
left as it was 8 years ago but still it seems to us
that we can play the piano since our birth.
Certainly, this is not true. We had to attend
classes, perform at concerts, practice at
home and very often we did not want to do
this. We did not succeed in everything at once,
for example, it was difficult to cope with
anxiety at the exam. The compositions, which
seemed to us very hard then, caused a
trouble. However, there are always difficulties
and it is not the reason to throw away the
favourite activity. So, after the second class
our teacher quited and there our ways
diverged.
M a r i n a : C h a n g i n g t h e te a c h e r, I
continued to study at the music school. But it
was no longer as easy and carefree as it used
to b e. N ew te a c h e r wa s s t r i c te r a n d
demanded more from me. So I became more
serious about my lessons and exams. For
these 5 years, I`ve had different situations. I
liked to play the piano, experience the
atmosphere of the music school, so cozy and
warm, though there were moments, when I
wanted to give up. One day when in the 5th
form I asked myself why I had been still going in
for music instead of trying some other
activities. At that moment I got that I was a
part of that place and that I had already

passed most of my way. So, I decided to stay.
But it was not a burden, because my interest in
music still remained.
Finishing school, I have never regretted
having devoted 7 years to it and later I saw
how important it was to me. Now I play more,
studying the guitar. At present with my stock
of knowledge, I can learn my favourite
composition or song myself and enjoy it!
Polina: That time I was only 8 years old
and all the decisions were made by my
parents. They could see that I was not
enthusiastic about my classes at my music
school after the dismissal of my favorite
teacher, and what`s more, was not willingly
engaged in at home. Therefore the choice was
made to leave school and ask the teacher to
give me private lessons at home. Thus, for 4
years I was taught only to play the piano and
the whole theory passed me by. I never
attended other lessons at the music school,
did not develop my listening abilities and did
not study the fate of the great composers,
however, it did not upset me, but rather
pleased, because I did not want to connect
my future with music. I had enough knowledge
that I had gained at the music school when a
little girl.
