DANCING
Dance as a Lifestyle

If you ask me “What is your association
with the childhood?” - I'll tell you «Rovesniki».
Children Choreographic Ensemble
«ROVESNIKI» was founded by V.V. Beloglazov in
1967. It is a creative dance group of 500 boys
and girls of the age from 4 to 18 with its unique
system of “Mutual Education” worked out by
Viacheslav Vasilyevich Beloglazov and based
on the principals of cooperation and mutual
creative activity between children and the
adults. All the children in the Ensemble are
united in patronage families. The children have
classes of classical, folk and contemporary
dance, study theories and acting techniques,
have training in gymnastics and acrobatics.
My way in «Rovesniki» started when I was
5 years old. My mother brought me to dance as
she thought it would be the perfect choice for
a girl. That day, in September, there was a
casting to join the ensemble. For me, as for a
child, there were no any worries or
expectations, but my mother, as I found out
later, worried a lot like all parents that day. The
atmosphere was delightful: a lot of little boys
and girls were waiting for their turn patiently,
or as patiently as a 5 year old child could do,
listening to their parents` advice. The casting
itself was basic, children were asked to smile,
to repeat some movements, after that
teachers understood who would be able to

dance the way the ensemble needed. I went
out of the studio with a piece of paper where
it was said that I was accepted and when my
dance class would start. As you have already
guessed, my mother was happy to learn that.
Behind beautiful dances, perfect
movement and smiles there is a hard work.
Sometimes people can not even imagine how
much time we spend on rehearsals where
there is sweat, tears and laugh at the same
time. The hardest period during a year is the
preparation for a tour or concerts, especially
if the concert program is new. While the whole
country is eating salads, tangerines during the
New Year's vacation, dancers start to train. Of
course, adult dancers have more pressure and
rehearsals as they go on a tour.
Tours are a big part of the ensemble's
life. We work a lot before going on a tour, to be
perfect representatives of our country as we
are a unique Russian dance group at the
festivals and competitions. The ensemble has
a lot of friends from all over the world thanks
to international events. «Rovesniki» visited a
lot of countries. As for me, I also was a part of
a tour group. Sometimes we had two concerts
a day, plus the time difference and a jetlag
because of a long flight. Yes, it was difficult.
The main character feature of «Rovesniki»
dancer is that no matter what happens, he will
do his best, as it is always an honor for us to
represent the ensemble and the country.
