ART Creativity for the Soul Alexandra Nedogarova Artist, Blagoveshchensk (Russia) I met Alexandra last fall, when, following the advice of a good friend of mine, I signed up for an oil painting course for adults in the “Kvartira” art studio. I must admit, I have long dreamed of starting to draw, to master new textures and materials, but I didn't find enough time for this on the one hand, and doubted that I could succeed on the other. In this case, I was attracted by the title and, after reviewing the Instagram page, I noted that it was very comfortable there and everyone who attended classes had been shining with smiles in the photo, showing excellent work, despite the absence of any professional skills. So, I decided to give it a try, and discovered an incredible world of colors. I came to Alexandra twice a week after the work and left just only after nine in the evening, but the time I was spending there was invaluable to me. Music, flight of the brush, easy communication ... I had been resting and getting some new portion of inspiration. I also genuinely loved our communication with Alexandra, who attracted me with her strong character combined with the natural refinement of manners and mind. During this time, we had discussed a lot, and once, over a cup of tea I asked her to tell me a bit more about her creative path and opening her own studio. 26 SUNRISE Elena Rudakova SUNRISE chief editor, Blagoveshchensk (Russia) Elena, how was your day yesterday? I have a day off today, but yesterday there was a master class, and I left work at only after 11 o'clock at night! Can you imagine? It so happens that at the very beginning people are skeptical about their projects, but later then, when they see some visible results, they are very satisfied and want to move on. “Is it really my creation?” they ask. I understand! I simply didn't believe that I would be able to draw a picture! And now I've got 4, thanks to you! We, adults, sometimes are way too serious, while children are ready to quickly embark on adventures. How many children's groups do you run? Now we have 4 children's groups with the ages between 6 and 10 years old. I'm also planning to run a higher ages group, between 10 and 14 years old, and there we'll provide more profound training in academic painting. Some children take classes regularly and our classes resemble a fine art studio. They draw something new in every one of their classes. We also run art holidays, when children take master classes during the school holidays. It is very popular! February 2019 №2
