Alexey Savrasov was born in Saint-
Petersburg in 1830. He is one of the best-
known artists and the creator of the lyrical
landscape style. His paintings are exhibited in
numerous famous museums around Russia
and are visited by numerous tourists each day.
In fact, his talent for drawing was revealed in
early childhood and, while developing it, he
entered the Moscow school of Painting,
Sculpture and Architecture. Moreover, his
works were exhibited in England, France,
Germany and so on. Therefore, Alexey
Savrasov became famous not only in Russia
but all over the world.
Most of his paintings depict nature at
different times of year. I love them all but my
favorite one among his works is «Country
road». It was painted in 1873 and now it hangs
in the Tretyakov Gallery. When I look at this oil
painting, I immediately imagine that the rain
will wash away a series of failures, which took
place and left an imprint on me. It also gives an
idea that if you don`t have a hope, the rays of
the sun will definitely appear and bring a new
perspective for the bright future. You just look
forward to it without any doubt.

SUNRISE
This oil painting shows the road which is
blurred by rain. There has probably been a
heavy rain recently. The wind continues to blow
and is followed by the streams of fresh air. The
sunshine is coming through the clouds which
are shimmering with a golden hue. Also, we can
see the trees, standing along the road.
His fabulous paintings convey all the
unique beauty of Russian nature. It`s
impossible not to fall in love with them as they
make us think of halcyon days of our childhood
and contemplate on beautiful moments.
