Since opening in 2008 , Cologne Academy has a well-established track record for success . Cologne Academy , a kindergarten – eighth grade public charter school , has been recognized repeatedly as one of the top-performing public schools in Minnesota . It has been named a 2015 and 2016 ‘ Reward School ’ by the Minnesota Department of Education which states it is in the top 15 percent of Minnesota public schools demonstrating exceptional student outcomes and have had success in closing the achievement gap .
Cologne Academy , a tuition free public school , currently serves over 600 students . All employees at Cologne Academy are at-will employees , teachers are licensed by the state of Minnesota and are reviewed annually .
