“Leaves are falling, just like embers, in colors red and gold,”

John Prine Killing the Blues

Fall is here and quite beautiful again this year. WDALA’s Fall Seminar was held at the Heritage Center in Bismarck on September 19 and 20, 2017. Oh, my stars, it was absolutely fantastic! We had speakers cover topics, such as, Medical Marijuana, Family Parenting Plans/Trial Prep, Mediation, and Real Ethics in a Virtual World. Our Fall Seminar organizers really did a great job with the venue and picking the presenters. I’ll be honest, I walked away a little bit afraid of my fitbtoit and smart phone after Justice Crothers’ presentation on Real Ethics in a Virtual World. I, however, was not so frightened that I will stop using them.

As your First Vice President (and my first time as being such) I welcome any luncheon webinar topic ideas and any other educational seminar/webinar ideas you may have. As I’m sure you are aware, I have some big shoes to fill now that Afton J. Basden, CP, is no longer the First Vice President but now our President. She was a wonderful First Vice President and I know she will make a fantastic President. I will admit, though, I am a bit nervous in this position and do not want to let any of you down. Again, please feel free to contact me with ideas you are interested in regarding further education. Also, if anyone has suggestions regarding speakers or topics they would like to see at the upcoming Spring Seminar in Minot, please let me know. My email address is [email protected].
