You are Not Fatherless

Written by: Isabella Morganthal

“Where does your dad work?”

Ugh. I hated this question.

Growing up, I avoided this question like the plague.

You see, I grew up in a single parent home with just my lovely mom and twin sister.

My mom was our rock. She filled the role of both parents while at the same time running her own business and homeschooling us. The greatest thing my mother ever gave me was the gift of growing up in a home that loved Jesus. Bible lessons were the first task of every day. Because of this I grew up with a passionate love for the One who rescued me, my Hero. Although I dealt with pain and hurt caused by my biological father, my mother supported me through it.

I don’t see the need to go into details or more discussion about my own biological father, so instead I would rather just share with you exactly what I want you to know, if you also grew up without a dad. I want to encourage you with what my mother taught me growing up and what I have known to be true in my own life.
