Live Action Role-Play

Do you ever get tired of living on plain , boring old earth , having no magical powers , and not fighting cool monsters ? So do we ! Come join us for our “ Live Action Role-Play ” ( a . k . a . “ LARP ”) camp , where you ’ ll be able to do all of the above and more ! Children will create their own original character to role-play as , design a costume , assemble pool noodle weapons or spell pouches filled with rice , and then role play and battle in a variety of games and quests . We have strict rules and structure to prevent serious injuries , but this camp does involve team clashes , quests , getting hit ( below the neck ) with pool noodles and pouches of rice . If this doesn ’ t seem like the right fit for your child , then check out “ Dungeons and Dragons ” or any other tabletop role-playing game . Machine Makers Engineering Camp

Campers will design simple machines using pulleys , wedges , screws , and levers and have fun learning how catapults work . Then we move on to fun with the Mad Science robots ! Mad Science Big Bang & Beyond

A long , long time ago , in a galaxy called the Milky Way , a planet called Earth was born near a star called the Sun . Have you ever wished you could travel through time and space ? Well , in “ History of Time ” that is exactly what we will do ! The story of the universe is an epic science saga of amazement . On our very first day of camp we will strap on our imagination caps and build a Super Science Time Machine to explore the known universe . Time travelers will journey into the past to traverse our Milky Way and examine the chemicals that make up the universe as well as the human body . From “ brain goo ” to “ mad mucus ,” we ’ ll explore biology by traveling through the different parts of our bodies here in the present day . We will even travel into the future to learn about genetics while making our own baby dragons ! It ’ s time to get moving ! From rowing to robots , “ Make It Go !” moves and grooves ! Leap into tennis , check out the fancy footwork of football , and design a crash helmet to keep your new friend , Eggbert , safe . Pull , roll , and catapult your way to fun with six simple machines . Mad Scientist and inventor Rube Goldberg knows that young scientists have lots of potential for kinetic energy ! Campers will jump , jam , and invent their own chain reaction machine . Launch your student into motion and engineering with hands on building that utilizes everyday items and technology . Get ready for some rockin ’ robots and the science of circuits and sensors . Each day camper will receive a project to take home that reflects what they learned while making things go , including their very own robot !
