Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Inner/Outer circle discussions, also called Socratic seminars, can be very
effective in helping students delve into the text, provide textual evidence,
and think critically. Teachers will learn how to have students create
higher-level questions and how to organize an inner/outer circle discussion.
Teachers will begin to develop seminar questions to use in the classroom.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring a laptop or tablet and any articles or short reading assignments
that you use in your classroom.
