Liberty Bell Award
The Liberty Bell Award recognizes individuals or organizations who promote understanding of our form of government, encourage
greater respect for law and the courts, and stimulate a deeper sense of responsibility on the part of citizens regarding their duties as
well as their rights.
This year’s recipients were the American Legion Department of North Dakota, North Dakota Boys State and the American Legion
Auxiliary Department of North Dakota, North Dakota Girls State. North Dakota Boys and Girls State programs allow young men
and women to become leaders and develop even greater potential. Through a learn-by-doing government simulation, attendees run
for office, form their own state government, and assume the many roles important to running a successful government.
