The Beginnings of My Heart is a beautiful story written by the multitalented Gabriel Mozart Steven Abeyta. The story is about a Native Girl ("Heart Girl") who is experiencing love for the first time with the same sex. Through her adventures her past has come back to haunt her. Now she must guide herself to find the spirits who have stolen her heart and persuade them to give her heart back while having the spirits face their own past.
When asked how this story
came about he stated "through love and respecting yourself is how the story came about. It shows different stages." Sundance took an interested in the movie and it will begin production soon. The story will take place in Santa Fe, New Mexico and it's a Native film. It will give a glance of reservation life and native storytelling.
Gabriel's goals for this film is to take it on tour and create a sense of adventure. When he got into Sundance they started building a script and making it a multi-cultural
