Q. Where would you like your career in modeling to lead you?
A. To be one of the most sought after full figured models providing the opportunity to inspire and develop others to be their best self.
Q. Where do you like to shop?
A. I don’t really like to shop, but like nice things. I will find lots of treasures at Goodwill, thrift stores. It is like a treasure hunt. You hit or miss.
Q. What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
A. The huge adrenaline rushes are fun and building confidence is rewarding.
Q. What advice do you have for aspiring models?
A. Believe in yourself and always stand and speak with confidence.
Q. How do you prepare for a modeling shoot?
A. I try to get insight on what the client is looking for then study poses online and in magazines and practice in the mirror.
Q. How would you describe working with a photographer?
A. Inspirational and fun.
Q. What makes a person stylish?
A. Confidence in their own skin and their ability to make others want to follow them or get what they have on.
Q. Who is your favorite photographer to work with and why?
A. I have two so far, Derek Blanks and David Price. Professionalism, creativity and vision, and the ability to make you feel like you are not looking into a camera, but just having fun.
Q. What does fashion mean to you?
A. Fashion is a way of outwardly displaying a thought, feeling, or belief.
Q. What distinguishes a good model from a bad one?
A. Personality, not thinking you are above or better than others, and professionalism.
Q. What are some of the things that you like and dislike in the fashion industry?
A. I like that the industry is changing and that all women can now see themselves in magazines and in ads. I dislike that there are still several barriers that exist regarding beauty, height and weight
Q. What places have you traveled during your career so far? What is your favorite place and why?
A. I have been to Birmingham, Ala; Charleston SC; Atlanta, GA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Bahamas; and Houston, TX. The Bahamas was my favorite because of the tranquility of the beautiful beach and clear water. I love being close to nature.
Q. Do you have a signature look that you like to wear to photo shoots? If so, what is it?
Yes. Fresh face and clean hair (unless asked to be hair and makeup ready) and strapless maxi dress.
Q. How has modeling changed the aspects of your life?
A. I feel a sense of purpose and peace when I am able to model and it makes me feel whole. This means I am more emotionally equipped to take care of my family’s needs, which is most important!
Q. What is your favorite outfit in your closet?
A green Maxi dress with pockets, I wear with a thin black sweater and black flats with a bow.
Q. Where is your favorite location for a photo shoot that you have done?
A. On some very sharp rocks in the Bahamas, with awesome photographer Terri McKee!
