a fitness shoot requires a stricter diet and workout plan than a beauty shoot for a makeup artist. To prepare for a runway show, I always attend practices and memorize the length, width and turns of a runway. In doing so, it prepares me for when I remove my glasses as I am legally blind in my right eye.

Q. How would you describe working with a photographer?

A. It’s like any job, you get along with most, but some not so much. That again is where my adaptability comes in and I turn on the charm even during the most awkward of shoots.

Q. What makes a person stylish?

A. Not to sound cheesy but CONFIDENCE is what makes a person stylish. These days, matching or coordinating is no longer in the colors but in how you wear it. A person’s aura is the most stylish piece of wardrobe they can attain.

Q. Who is your favorite photographer to work with? And why?

A. I don’t have a favorite as all photographers have their different quirks and everything. There’s something about all of them that I like and some things I dislike, but I can’t pick a favorite...sorry

Q. What does fashion mean to you?

A. To me, fashion is everything. It can be a person, a certain style or a state of being. It spans the world, defying language barriers and opening new doors. It’s literally everything.

Q. What distinguishes a good model from a bad one?

A. Honestly, I don’t like the terms “good” or “bad” model but there are definitely a difference in modeling styles. I would say there are the dedicated models and the divas. A dedicated model will tirelessly work towards her goals while a diva just wants the spotlight without really earning it.

Q. What are some of the things that you like and dislike in the fashion industry?

A. In the industry, I dislike the height requirements the most but I know there are some that are working to change that. I don’t believe people should be penalized for something hereditary that they just can’t change. I do like the diverse definition of beauty that has emerged.

Q. What places have you traveled during your career so far? What is your favorite place and why?

A. During my career, I have personally traveled all of the East Coast and parts of California. My connections have afforded me the luxury of working with wonderful photographers from Australia, Paris and Russia as well.

Q. Do you have a signature look that you like to wear to photo shoots? If so, what is it?

A. I do this little thing where I take something either gifted or borrowed from someone in my immediate family and wear it every shoot. It’s like a “Where’s Waldo” game of sorts. I once wore this pair of socks I’d borrowed from my mom in a magazine shoot; she was delighted to see them in print!!
