Mrs. Jackson

Desha Jackson is a 1989 graduated from Lakewood High School and a 1993 graduate of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. While at Drew she majored in Political Science and participated in many activities such as Student Government, Orientation Committee, and the Student Alumni Board. She also received many awards including Senior Gold D, The Delores Collins Book Award and she was a member of the E.O.S. Honor Society. In addition, Ms. Jackson was on the Dean’s List from 1991-1993. After Drew she went on to pursue her dream of becoming an attorney.

In 1993 she began her first year at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida on partial scholarship.

While at Stetson, Ms. Jackson was a member of Student Government, as well as, an officer of the Black Law Student Association. As for academics, Ms. Jackson was on the honor roll and Dean’s List. As a result of her involvement and academic achievement she was selected by the faulty to be in Who’s Who Among American University and Colleges. Her honors also include Who’s Who Among American Law Students and the Joan Lott Scholarship.

After law school, Ms. Jackson passed the July 1996 New Jersey State Bar Examination and was admitted to practice law on December 17, 1996.

Her work experience includes internships at the Monmouth and Union County Prosecutors Offices. In addition, she was a Certified Legal Intern at the Hillsborough County Prosecutors Office in Tampa, Florida, as well as, a legal intern for the Honorable Elizabeth Kovachevich of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida also located in Tampa.
