KILWINNING CAMPUS HIGHLIGHTS
CODERDOJO
WINTER CLOTHES DRIVE
NC Social Science students Jamie Stevenson and Olga Bresch
have been leading their class in a Winter Clothes Drive for
the homeless – encouraging people to think about those in
vulnerable conditions during this harsh winter.
Donations of sleeping bags, jumpers, jackets, hats, scarves and so much
more were taken in from every campus by the group.
We hosted Ayrshire’s
first CoderDojo event on
Tuesday 25 November.
...Those who
attended said
it was a fun
way to
learn.
ROYAL MARINES
The Royal Marine Commandos delivered a military style
fitness session to a group of students from Kilwinning, as
well as Kilmarnock and some sports students.
They had a lesson on how to survive in the field, weapons stand, live
firing and personal fitness. These fun activities were followed by a
careers presentation aimed at giving the students the opportunity to
engage with operational personnel in order to get an insight into this
line of work.
