MAROON 5
GIG REVIEW
by Stacey Auld
LA soft funk rockers Maroon 5 have enjoyed a
new lease of life since digging out their dancing
shoes for the uncharacteristic smash hit Moves
Like Jagger, elevating them to arena touring level
and frontman Adam Levine be a judge on the US
version of The Voice.
After postponing their show for 7 months, Maroon 5
finally made their appearance in Glasgow. With an upgrade
from the Braehead Arena, they got to perform on stage at
Glasgow’s newest and largest venue, the SSE Hydro. Playing
some of their biggest hits including One More Night, Lucky
Strike, This Love and of course the floor filler, Moves Like
Jagger. With a massive stage set up and playing hit after hit
they had the almost sold out crowd eating out the palm
of their hands. With an almost all female crowd, it helped
to have Robin Thicke open the night for them, although it
seemed like the only song they knew was Blurred Lines. It
was a great atmosphere and had the crowd dancing for every
second of the night.
