We started off at the sports centre in Largs, but for the HND moved to the Skills Centre of Excellence in Irvine. Here he explains how he came to the College in the first place and how he found the course. At first I thought college would be daunting, because I’ve been out of education since 2000, so that’s a good 13 years in between. But everything was seamless, the support that I got from lecturers and students made it quite easy to make the transition from full-time employment to full-time college. “I was working full-time as a recruitment adviser but I lost my job. Within two months I started college. I’m sports-orientated, I’ve always had an interest in sports anyway. So when I lost my job I thought I’d never have a better opportunity to get some qualifications in that field. One of my friends was doing the 8 What sports am I interested in?
