COLLEGE NEWS
interview
Ayrshire College
group
Our fitness students have been offered the chance to
become personal trainers at one of Ayrshire’s
biggest gyms.
LIFESTYLE FITNESS recently invited a class
from the Townholm campus to take part in
fitness classes at their Queens Drive facility,
and delivered a presentation to them about
working in the fitness industry.
Afterwards Kevin Smith, the Regional Personal
Trainer Manager at Lifestyle Fitness, invited
them to attend a first stage interview for
personal trainer positions.
The fitness club is looking for passionate
individuals to join their team and, after
assessing our students during their visit to
the gym, Kevin offered them the fantastic
opportunity.
Those successful at the interview progressed
to the next stage, which involves a practical
assessment. Sophie Dunlop and Neil McManus
22
are two students who have made it that far.
Neil said “I want to become a personal trainer
as I want to help people achieve their goals
and reach a point in their life where they are
satisfied with their own health and fitness
levels and be body confident.
“The college has helped me through
my journey as they’ve offered training
opportunities in the way of fitness classes.
The college has also given me the opportunity
to work with all types of people, giving me a
wider range of knowledge when working with
others.
“Qualifications are also a part in which the
college have aided me in, by helping me
become qualified for the career I wish to
pursue.”
