o you’re new to college, or maybe you’ve been
here before? Maybe you’re here to prepare
for university, to gain the qualifications to
get a better job, or maybe you’re a mature
learner and want to change career? Whatever your
reasons for coming to college, you can influence
how you want Ayrshire College’s student experience
to be. Whether you are passionate about a topic
close to your heart, like mental health awareness or
equality, you want to get involved in fundraising,
or just want to help arrange lots of fun activities for
your fellow students to enjoy, getting involved in
the Student Association could be your opportunity
to contribute to the wider life of Ayrshire College.
A great way to get involved is through the
Association’s clubs and societies – they are a
fantastic way to make friends, meet like-minded

people and broaden your horizons by interacting
with people you wouldn’t normally get the chance to
meet. Extracurricular activities can help round out
your CV and introduce new skills and experiences
that prospective employers really appreciate.
As we are a new college, why not take the
opportunity to set up your own club or society?
If you have a particular interest, passion or skill
that you would like to share with other students,
now is your chance to make it happen.
If you have an idea or a suggestion, speak to
your campus Vice President or one of the
Executive Committee officers and get the ball
rolling. They are always happy to hear from
you and will give you as much support as you
