INV //GET S o you’re new to college, or maybe you’ve been here before? Maybe you’re here to prepare for university, to gain the qualifications to get a better job, or maybe you’re a mature learner and want to change career? Whatever your reasons for coming to college, you can influence how you want Ayrshire College’s student experience to be. Whether you are passionate about a topic close to your heart, like mental health awareness or equality, you want to get involved in fundraising, or just want to help arrange lots of fun activities for your fellow students to enjoy, getting involved in the Student Association could be your opportunity to contribute to the wider life of Ayrshire College. A great way to get involved is through the Association’s clubs and societies – they are a fantastic way to make friends, meet like-minded 20 people and broaden your horizons by interacting with people you wouldn’t normally get the chance to meet. Extracurricular activities can help round out your CV and introduce new skills and experiences that prospective employers really appreciate. As we are a new college, why not take the opportunity to set up your own club or society? If you have a particular interest, passion or skill that you would like to share with other students, now is your chance to make it happen. If you have an idea or a suggestion, speak to your campus Vice President or one of the Executive Committee officers and get the ball rolling. They are always happy to hear from you and will give you as much support as you need to set up your society. There are lots of THE STUDENT VOICE: EDITION 1
