START HERE, GO ANYWHERE... “When I left school after fifth year I started the next day in an apprenticeship in sign fabrication and erection. “I finished my apprenticeship after four years and stayed with the company for another two years. “After this I joined the infantry - serving until my medical discharge in September 2006. I went back to signage once my leg was healed; but at this point I met my wife and knew I had to better myself. 6 “So I decided to return to education. “I wanted to do aeronautical engineering mainly due to my time in the army where I was getting transported and dropped in various locations via Chinook and C-130 Hercules aircraft. After a bit of research, my interest in understanding the minutest levels of detail took over and I knew I had to do this course. “At the moment I’m an MMS (Machine Maintenance and Servicing) Technician for Solar Turbines which is a subsidiary company of Caterpillar.
