KILWINNING CAMPUS HIGHLIGHTS KILWINNING CAMPUS HIGHLIGHTS by Sharon Graham Open Door Events Kilwinning-based students were on hand at the Ayrshire College Open Door events to help give advice to potential August new starts. Students gave up their time between 5pm-8pm on Mondays 16th and 23rd March at the Kilwinning campus and even on a Saturday (28th) between 11am-1pm at the Skills Centre of Excellence in Irvine to answer questions from school leavers and their parents about what it is like to study at Ayrshire College. The Open Door events were an opportunity for people to come along and see what the College was all about ā€“ and with our students helping out, Iā€™m sure they left with a fantastic impression of Ayrshire College! The following courses had a drop-in session at the events: Science, Engineering, Electrical, Motor Vehicle, Plumbing, Business & Computing, Art & Design, Photography, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Make-Up Artistry and Complementary Therapies, Care and Social Science and Hospitality. 12 The Kilwinning Campus kicked off the hosting duties of Careers Week on the 21st and 22nd of April. This was a great opportunity for students to network with potential employers and gain some sound career advice for when their studies are complete. Hopefully those who came along found it beneficial and took something from it. Student Services As you may have noticed, the Kilwinning Campus is having a refurbishment, with a new Student Services area to be made. If you would like to find out more about this ā€“ you can email marketing@ayrshire. ac.uk. Zorb football In fundraising news, the Routes to Construction class are raising money for UNICEF by having a Zorb 5-a-side football match at Auchenharvie Academy on 21st May.
