Winning Student AN NC BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES STUDENT WHO EXCELS AT BADMINTON HAS EARNED A SCHOLARSHIP FROM WINNING STUDENTS. Holly Newall competes in badminton events across Europe. She has gained three caps for Scotland at senior level and was recently selected to represent her country at the U19 European Junior Championships in France. Holly’s impressive career to date has won her £2,000 worth of support from Winning Students, a scholarship programme managed by the University of Stirling and funded by the Scottish Funding Council. Holly said “I think this is a really great programme. It’s helped me a lot so far with getting to competitions abroad, training costs, and getting help from a physio and food nutritionist.” Trainee Engineer Zoe McCarlie went from Prince’s Trust to Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance Ltd via a Sheet Metal Course at the College. She credits the 12-week Prince’s Trust programme with sparking her interest in engineering. “I decided to follow in the footsteps of my sister Dale and enrol on the Prince’s Trust programme at the College. I thoroughly enjoyed my time my group and feel that my self-esteem has improved, as well as my skills in leadership and team working. Joining the Prince’s Trust programme was one of the best things I have ever done as it has helped me start a career in engineering.” Interested?
