STUDENTS COOK UP A STORM IN WESTMINSTER

Our Professional Cookery students showcased produce at Westminster recently at an event promoting Ayrshire ’ s award-winning food and drink industry .
Ayrshire ’ s most prestigious companies in key industry sectors attended and provided the chance for MPs to learn about the Ayrshire Growth Deal to strengthen the Ayrshire economy .
As part of the campaign to promote the Ayrshire Growth Deal , the Ayrshire Larder event provided the opportunity to showcase produce from local dairy , beef and seafood suppliers , as well as farmhouse cheese makers , ice cream makers , bakers , brewers , smokehouses , chocolatiers and market gardeners .
Professional Cookery students , Oliver Begg and Emma White , and Hospitality lecturer Peter Bacchetti supported the Westminster trip by cooking and serving the Ayrshire produce .
MPs got the chance to sample some of Ayrshire ' s world-famous , award-winning food and drink produce .
Professional Cookery student Oliver Begg said “ We were really proud to show off what Ayrshire has to offer and it was a good experience to be in a completely different environment to what I ’ m used to . The guests seemed to really enjoy the produce we showcased - we didn ’ t have anything left at the end of the day !”
