us to come to church,
sit, and be consumers
and mere learners rather
than contributors. The
good portion is making
Jesus the highest priority
in our life, choosing
to learn from Him as
our rabbi, and walking
in obedience to His
commands.
As with each of the
gospels, the book of
Luke is filled with Jesus’
teachings and records
of His way of life.
Implicit in every story,
in every red letter, is
this challenge: will you
choose to hear the words
of God and come away
unchanged, or will you
hear the teachings of the
Christ and choose to
follow?

Each tree is recognized by
its own fruit. People do not
pick figs from thornbush-
es, or grapes from briers.
A good man brings good
things out of the good stored
up in his heart, a nd an evil
man brings evil things out
of the evil stored up in his
heart. For the mouth speaks
what the heart is full of.
