DISRESPECT/INSUBORDINATION Students are expected to treat fellow students and the faculty with respect. Failure to follow a reasonable directive from a staff member constitutes insubordination and will be dealt with by an administrator . FIGHTING Fighting will not be tolerated. See Behavior Code for discipline. All parties involved in a fight will be suspended out of school. FIRE CODE RESTRICTIONS/FIREWORKS/FALSE ALARMS/BOMB THREATS Possession of matches or lighters in the building is prohibited. Causing false fire alarms or making bomb threats are suspendable offenses. Students in possession or handling fireworks of or handling fireworks will be suspended. Fireworks include “snap pops”, caps, or any other similar device. FORGERY Forgery or falsification of any school-related documents will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary actions. LEAVING CAMPUS A student who leaves campus without following all checkout procedures will be assigned ISS and will lose parking privileges. LUNCH BEHAVIOR Students are expected to conduct themselves properly while in the dining hall. Students may not break in line. Students must take all trash to the garbage can before leaving the dining hall. Throwing food in the dining hall, leaving trash, as well as any other inappropriate behavior, will result in disciplinary actions. Students may leave the dining hall to go to the restrooms at the intersection of the 400 Hall and Main Street or to other teacher-approved destinations. ONLY SENIORS ARE PERMITTED TO SIT OUTSIDE IN THE SENIOR COURTYARD, AND MUST HAVE AND MUST HAVE A HARRISON STUDENT ID CARD TO PRESENT AS PROOF IF REQUESTED BY AN ADMINISTRATOR OR OTHER FACULTY MEMBER. PROFANE/OBSCENE GESTURES, MATERIALS, ETC. The possession of or expression of profane, vulgar, abusive or suggestive language, gestures, or materials on school property or at school-sponsored events is prohibited. Violators are subject to suspension. RESTRICTED AREAS Students are prohibited from entering restricted areas without permission from an administrator. Unless under direct supervision of a teacher, the following are restricted areas: physical education locker rooms (except when changing clothes for a PE class), athletic complex, woods, tennis court (and surrounding areas), and the cross-country trail (unless with a teacher), computer labs, and student vehicles. Violators are subject to disciplinary actions. Teacher workrooms and restrooms are also restricted areas. Students may only enter with permission from a teacher. Students are not allowed in parking lots during school hours without administrative approval. RUNNING IN THE HALLS Running in the halls is dangerous and is prohibited. SKIPPING/TARDINESS It is important for all students to be on time and attend each class. Students who are excessively tardy to class or who skip are subject to disciplinary actions. 17
