LATE CHECK-INS
Students who come to school late due to an excused absence MUST check in through the Attendance office.
LEAVING CAMPUS
Students who leave campus must go to the Attendance Office to check out. Students are not allowed to leave
campus at any time after the initial arrival on campus without permission from the Attendance Office. Initial
arrival occurs when students either get on their bus or arrive on campus in a car. Early arrival for whatever
reason constitutes being on campus and requires the student to follow early dismissal procedures. Leaving or
attempting to leave campus without permission will be punishable by three (3) days of in-school suspension on
the first offense and will result in the loss of parking privileges.
FORGED/FALSE ATTENDANCE RECORDS
Forgery of any attendance-related statements given to school officials by students is a serious offense. Making
such false statements will result in disciplinary action.
OUT-OF-TOWN/UNAVAILABLE PARENTS
The Attendance Office should be notified when parents will be unavailable for contact. Both routine and
emergency situations require that a responsible adult be contacted.
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
A student who has an unexcused absence may not make up work missed. A student who must be absent and the
absence is not excused per policy may, however, get prior approval via the Attendance Office. A note must be
sent prior to the absence. The administrator will verify the absence with a parent and also check the number of
unexcused absences already accumulated. The unexcused absence will stay unexcused, but the student will be
allowed to make up the work. The absence is recorded as an AUW in Synergy.
