Inner Beauty

Kayleigh Marshall

“In the Beginning”, these words seem to be so powerful for us as Christians because it brings us to the start of all that God has done and is doing for us. These beginning verses in Genesis are looked at quite often, but we are going to take a minute to look at them while we think about our own inner beauty. Starting in Genesis 1: 26-27 – “Then God said, ‘let us make man in our image, in our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” One of the greatest challenges to inner beauty is believing in ourselves and the greatness within ourselves. Too often we get ourselves down because we compare ourselves to others and we begin to think that we are not pretty enough, smart enough, talented enough or just good enough in general. But! Guess what!?! We are all good enough because we are each made in the image of our Lord, which makes us good enough for anything that we allow God to help us through. This is such an encouraging and humbling thought to know that we are made like God and it has been this way since the beginning. However, in order to really portray our great beauty we must keep in mind that we must keep a Christ like attitude in all that we do each and every day. So, next time you are down on yourself and begin to think “maybe I’m not good enough”, I want you to go back to the beginning, “Then God said, ‘let us make man in our image, in our likeness… So God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
