Advice

“ Dear God, thank you for my mommy, thank you for my daddy, my brother, my sisters and my dog. Thank you for my toys and my new shoes.” This is the prayer I would hear every evening while at home; my two year old brother and five year old sister would be hunched over the table and in a quiet little voice, I would hear this precious prayer every evening. We can all learn something from this very simple, yet incredibly powerful prayer. I don’t know about you, but often times my prayers consist of a lot of requests and stresses and very few thank yous. We have been incredibly blessed with all that we have yet we take it all for granted. Children have little to no worries, so all they think to say is what they are thankful for. How great would it be if we let go of our worries so that all we could talk about was the things we are thankful for; it would be quite incredible! So, learn from the children; after all, we are all called in Matthew 18:3 to be like little children. Let’s give thanks to the Lord for all that we have!
