we were planning on doing and we told them that we were just going to
use the front stretch to drag race,” says Haung, with a laugh. “They thought
we were crazy. We just wanted to simulate roll racing on the highway. We
didn’t have any interest at all in actually racing around the whole road course.”
The problem, however, was that the longest straightaway on the course
would only allow them to get into fourth-gear before having to shutdown,
and they wanted to race further and faster. “We wanted to do some real
high-speed stuff, you know – like you’d do on the interstate rolling along
at 50-60mph and hitting it. You’re going to need some serious real estate
to do that.”

in the area. “We found some old guys that had this small airport with just
a couple hangars, and they were happy to rent us the place for a few thousand bucks and let us have at it,” continues Haung. “So, our first Airstrip
Attack was in February 2012 and we all drove out to this airport in the city
of Trona, California – about three hours from Los Angeles out in the middle
