Aghakhani’s previous top speed was 195 mph, but he was determined to break the double-century barrier in Colorado before a sizable gathering of spectators. Many in the crowd were understandably surprised at his tender age, especially knowing the responsibility of handling such a powerful and expensive ride, however, his father, 74 STREETRACE Armik, had all the confidence in the world as he waited near the finish line with walkie-talkie in hand, ready to relay the hopefully good news. It came as expected when Aghakhani ran through the traps at 202 mph, quite possibly making him the fastest 13 year old in the country and certainly one of the fastest in the world. Despite F1 aspirations of his own, for now Aghakhani says he’ll concentrate on schoolwork. Regardless, it already seems apparent he’s destined to continue learning even more about the science of speed. PHOTOS: DANIEL SCHENKELBERG 200-MPH TEEN
